Scenario: Boyfriend not on lease, Girlfriend in jail, Boyfriend paying rent, receiving mail at this address, boyfriend and girlfriend together for 4 yrs. Property Management finds out boyfriend is staying at this apartment, comes over and gives boyfriend One hour to GET OUT and Property Management company changes locks. This sounds so unethical is it?

Sounds like an illegal lockout to me. How long has the boyfriend been there? Has the property manager/owner been aware that the boyfriend has been there?

I don't know if they apply to someone who isn't on the lease, but if you have ID that has that address on it, you might be okay. which states that if you are staying with a friend and not paying rent, then you don't qualify. I'm assuming they mean that the person you're staying with can lock you out, not the owner of the property. Regardless, they have locked out the legal tenant (girlfiend). How long is the girlfiend in jail for?
