They are now gone - thanks.

Are we seeing an uptick in spam? I've deleted some every morning this week.
I am not able to respond to private messages. Thanks!
Yes, we are. It's nowhere near what it used to be, but it's definitely on the upswing.

Yes, I usually delete several late evening/very early morning.

Lets all remember when several hundred spams messages was a light day. I am not saying that what we are seeing today is fun and games, but as stated, this can be much worse.

I don't see where anyone was complaining about the amount of current spam
(considering how much we used to get) - just that we have seen a pick up in
it recently.

Most of the Cyrillic ones are all coming from the same IP address; at least, most of the ones I've seen. Do all the mods know how to check that?

I do & same here re IP address.

Here is another prolific spammer

jakesparoo has been taken care of.

Is there any way we can set it so a moderator has to approve a post from a new user before it shows up or no?
I'll pass that suggestion up the line.

Slightly off the subject, but I would like to see a "thumbs up" set up. There have been some excellent posts lately.
I think the ladies are doing exceptionally well, myself. I have yet to find any spam, now I'm forgetting how to delete it! lol!
Keep up the good work ladies!

I don't think "currently" spam is that big of a problem. We don't get anywhere near
the amount we used to get.
If we had a moderator review a post before it shows up & there is no moderator on
when a poster posts, there could be a hold up in getting a legitimate post posted &
replied to.

I just got the word back down the line.
For the reason articulated by Betty, above, and because of some of the limits of the software, we will not be making this change at this time.
If the spam problem increases, we can always revisit the suggestion.

I wish I knew what these spamers were using to translate from the mother tongue to English.
I swear sometimes a drunken chicken could do a better job of it...![]()
Yep, they are usually pretty easy to spot.
