My friend works as a waitress in Ohio. What are the laws regarding pay and tips? She says that she only makes $3.65/hr + tips. She said that they do not pay her the difference if she does not make minimum wage with pay plus tips. Is this legal? I thought federal law required the employer to pay the difference if you did not make minimum wage with hourly + tips. I know federal trumps state if federal is better. Does anybody have a good link reference i can send her?
