GE water dispenser

Hi..
I purchased a GE water dispenser that leaked and caused water damage to about 10 sq ft of the hardwood floors in the apartment I am renting.

I can take pics of the damage, but the dispenser was thrown away.
My wife can vouch for how the damage occurred.


How can I cover the damages that I might get charged for once I move out?
How can I cover the lost quality of living in my apt with the damaged hardwood floor
which now is slightly raised in the area where the damage occurred.

...take money out of wallet,
give money to landloard.

Ok, here’s one or two 'pointers'..
1. Next time, don’t throw out the water dispenser,
that was your ONLY evidence to support your claim.
Your wife’s word and pictures of a large water spot on a hardwood floor won’t amount to squat with the landlord.
2. Face the fact, that unless you have renters insurance,
you may have just bought yourself a floor

Just found this thread after doing some searching regarding renters insurance. How stupid can a person really be? That is what this thread makes me think. Sorry for bumping a year old thread, but seriously people...
