Hello all,
First of all, thank you for this valuable resource that you guys supply. I am a PA Union Carepenter as well as a PA licensed Realtor. I have done very little with my real estate license until recently (2 weeks ago) when I closed on two deals for a personal friend. I was employed as a Carpenter as well during that time. I was (temporarily) laid off last week as a carpenter. Does anyone know if I will be able to collect unemployment benefits? Earlier this year I was also laid off and did collect, but now I don't know how they will treat my claim as I've now made some money in real estate. I don't foresee me closing on any deals in the near future. As an aside, I know that the company I was laid off from (carpentry) will not object to paying my unemployment. I guess that's the second part of my question: How much say does the paying employer (as opposed to the state) have in whether or not a claim is paid?
Thank you for your time. I'm also posting this as its own, individual thread because I'm not sure if the moderator would want me to usurp this one. Drew
