Default Personal property left behind by former friend

What can I legally do with personal items left behind by a former friend. She never lived in my home but when she moved from her former residence to another temporary residence she left several boxes at my home. We had no agreement and I did not give her permission to leave the boxes in my home. I do also have some of her personal items in a storage unit that i had given her permission to store. i did how ever give her written notification in the form of email ( i have no idea where she actual is at now) that the items needed to be removed about 2 months ago. I have not heard any thing in response directly from her. She has complained to a mutual aquantence about me wanting her stuff out. So i know she recieved the email. What can i do with all this junk.

I would send a letter to the last known address with "forwarding address requested" written on the envelope. Hopefully she completed a mail forwarding order; however it seems many people are too lazy/stupid to do so.

That is the first step, hopefully you will find where she is, or the letter will get to her and she can make arrangements.

    Good luck!
Not everything in America is actionable in a court of law. Please remember that attorneys are in business for profit, and they get paid regardless of whether or not you win or lose.

I offer my knowledge and experience at no charge, I admit that I am NOT infallible, I am wrong sometimes, hopefully another responder will correct me if that is the case with the answer above, regardless, it is your responsibility to verify any and all information provided.

Does your mutual acquaintance know where she is currently?

    Minnesota: abandoned personal property -
If property has not been removed within six months after it
comes into the possession of a person, it is abandoned and shall
become the property of the person in possession, after notice to
the prior owner. Thirty days' notice that the time period has
elapsed and that the ownership will be transferred at the end of
the 30 days shall be given to the prior owner personally or by
certified mail, which is actually received. If the name of the prior
owner is not known or owner cannot be located with
reasonable diligence, three weeks' published notice shall be
given in the county where the property is located. The prior
owner or another person claiming an interest in the property may
petition the district court to stay the transfer of ownership
for a reasonable period to allow the removal of the property.
The transfer is stayed while the petition is pending before the
    court.
