My wife is a manager for a retail store in NC. She is currently being pushed to take a demotion from manager to a PT position (obviously with much lower pay and no benefits) or face termination from the company. If she does not take the part time position and the company terminates her salary position, is she eligable for UI?
Another question: She is paid salary for 45 hours per week. It is normal for managers to work more hours, but know she is being told she needs to be there, on the schedule, for 60+ hours to maintain the store since hours were cut at the corporate level. Is this legal?
