My daughter who is 20 years old, was asked to work an earlier shift yesterday. She agreed and went in, but arrived 20 minutes late. She then asked to leave about an hour early due to illness. She has been sick for about 5 days with an upper respiratory illness which worsened yesterday. She was late due to having an excruciating headache. She saw an MD yesterday and was given 2 medications. She began working at this company 9 months ago and has only called out sick twice and these have been due to this current illness. When she went to pick up her paycheck this morning, she was told her pay is being decreased and was told she could not receive her check until she signed a form agreeing to the pay cut. Is this legal?
