Default mediacl benefits during pregnany

My wife is 6 months pregnant. I am starting a new job on 3/14/05 but my new benefits do not start till 90 days. My old benefits expire at the end of March. Without picking up cobra is there any way my wife is coverage. I heard if you are in your 3 trimester the company I am leaving still has to cover her. I am in new york

Default Pregnancy Benefits

I could not find any statute that provides for the benefit. You can talk with the New York Departmen of Labor for confirmation: http://www.nysdhr.com/pregnant.html
