My daughter has been working 40hrs a wk for three years, when she was from 3 month pregant she put her hrs down to 34 hrs a wk, she is now 28wks pregant and her employer has cut her hrs to 20hrs a wk as she cant stand on her feet for to long, she has now been asked to give up work at 30wks,due to heath and safety. Her employer has said that her maternity pay will be for 20hrs, please can you advice if this is correct.

If she did not request the reduction in hours, but they are being forced upon her, it is illegal discrimination. The question is whether her employer is large enough to be covered by federal law OR if your state or local law covers discrimination against pregnancy.
