Isn't the occupational privilege tax a State law and not a local tax?
Yesterday I went to pick up my paychecks. The first one I got had the $52 taken out for Occupational Tax which I was expecting. When I picked up my second one I noticed again that $52 was removed for the Occupational Tax.
I have been under the impression that if one place of employment takes the OPT out, that my secondary place of employment wouldn't remove it.
My boss at the second place has been aware of my other job, when I went in to talk to him I told him that my first place removed it. He stated that it didn't matter because both of my jobs are in different counties.
I haven't been able to contact the Capital Tax bureau since they were closed by the time I picked up my checks.
Is what my Boss stating correct?
