Default NH Lunch Law New Hampshire

Can anyone tell me if an employee in New Hampshire can refuse their lunch break if only working a 5 to 5 1/2 hour shift? The retail company I work for has just made policy that if an employee is even a minute later than 5 hours in taking their lunch it will be a written warning & will be terminated after the 4th occurence.

There is no state where an employee has the right to refuse a lunch break that his employer tells him to take.

Wow.. sounds like (deleted).. can someone please tell me where it is written that as an employee you are required to take at least a 31 minute lunch bofore hitting 5hrs will working a 8-9hr shift.. i cant seem to find this anywhere but (company) Management says they will get fined and we as an employee could be written up if we go past the 5hr mark before clocking out for lunch.

mpdonovan - please start your own new thread - you added your question to another poster's thread. Thanks.

Also, it would be best if you removed employer's name from your post. (for your own protection)

You've been asked to start your own thread, wpdonovan. But because this is such an easy answer, I will respond here.

It's 30 minutes minimum and here is the law.

Yes, the employer could be fined and, yes, can be written up or even fired if you violate the company policy requiring the meal period.
