I have been engaged for almost a year now to temporary resident from Ecuador. We were planning the engagement for August, until we were reminded that his permit expires in 4 months. Knowing that it can take almost that long for the paperwork to got through in renewing your permit, I was wondering if a speedy wedding would alter his status at all?

I'm hoping someone has some information from experience that can help me.
