Exclamation ND personnel files North Dakota

I have worked for a company in ND for 10 years, and had recently asked to see my personnel file. They stated it was company property and I was not able to see it. Is this legal in ND? If so...is there any way, barring taking the employer to court to get access to this file?? Disenchanted in ND.

Yes, this is legal in ND (and a number of other states as well).
