Exclamation Non paid meetings in nevada?

Question. I am a hourly non exempt employee working for a cable and wireless networking company. Every morning , our employer informs us we have to meet at the warehouse from 7:45 am - 9am without pay for meetings, gathering supplies, and miscellaneous work in the warehouse before we go to the offsite location and clock in at 9:30am. Is that legal? It seems to me he is undermining the legal system. Especially since the 6 and 1/4 hours per week that is not paid would actually bring us over the minimum 32 hours work requirement that would deem us "fulltime" employment status AND elgible for insurance. Please Advise.

No, if these meetings are mandatory you must be paid for them.

Thank you.. IS there a nevada revised statute pertaining to this? soo I can show this to my employer? I'm pretty sure all of the employees, including myself, would enjoy having a copy of this.

Thanks again.

Federal.

If Nevada has no laws or ones that are less favorable to the employee, then federal law applies. Only if Nevada had laws more beneficial to the employee would federal laws take a back seat.
