I'm 16, a high school and college student, and I've recently applied for a job available through my school, but the employer wasn't sure whether I had to have a work permit for her to hire me. I've heard you only need one if you're under 16. It's mainly computer work, and I don't think I'd be working past 10 PM, or working more than about 20 hours a week.
I've heard you can get a permit from the Juvi courts (in Las Vegas), or from your school counselor or something, but I don't know under what circumstances I need it, or how to go about getting one, or where the Juvi court is. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! ![]() |

Here's the entire text of the laws concerning child labor and I don't see anything in there regarding work permits for 16 year-olds.
http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-609.html Your school counselor or principal should be able to advise you; they deal with this all the time. |
