Purchasing a Garage Parking Spot District of Columbia

Hi, I am purchasing a parking spot from another tenant in the same condo building. Our condo bylaws allow the transfer of parking spots to other tenants, so that's not a problem, however our condo deeds do not have the parking spots listed on them. How do I go about deeding this parking spot so that this will be a legally recorded transaction?

Get a title report and carry it to a real estate lawyer who knows about condo stuff.

Your condo complex has separate titles for parking stalls. (I have seen some condos that have titles for small storage areas.)

You will need to get a copy of the parking stall title and do a transfer deed just like it were a condo unit. Check with condo association that there are no outstanding dues owed, taxes paid, no judgements, special assessments, etc.

Double check that there is no problem in transfering individual stalls alone before you start transfering money around.
