Hi
I would like to know what is state of Alabama law states for: Does an employee needs to get paid at the time of his/her termination? Or, the last paycheck can be mailed on a regular schedule (next payroll time)? If an employer is required to pay at the time of termination, can an employer hold the check to recover company property, such as phone, uniform, etc. California law is straight that you have to pay the emplyee at the time of termination. I would really appreciate any help. thank you, HRCalifornia |

Alabama has no laws directly concerning the release of the final paycheck. You're perfectly safe in holding it till the next regular payday.
The only state in which you can legally hold a check until company property is returned, is South Dakota. |
