Default Paying non-exempt employees for travel time

Trying to find some information regarding paying non-exempt employees for their travel time. We have a few employees that travel for trade shows - they perform set-up, work the show and then tear down. Travel locations vary from West to East, as does the amount of travel time.

My specific questions are:
1. Do we pay overtime automatically after 8 hours each day?
2. Can actual travel time be paid at a different rate?
3. When the show is over and they return to hotel, are they officially off the clock?

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide me.

Yes, so long as it is over minimum wage.
