Default Waiver of Overpayment North Carolina

I need to file a Waiver of Overpayment. Can you tell me what they are looking for in my statement?

I am appealing the decision to deny my UI -- will the overpayment be restored to me if they find in my faovr? Or do I need to file the waiver as well as the appeal?

    Many thanks,

    Michelle

    Default Waiver

I'll answer this one for myself

I went to the ESC today and the rep I spoke with wasn't sure either... she suggested I go ahead and file the waiver just in case.

Probably because I didn't know what a "waiver of overpayment" even was. I just assumed someone who knew what it was would answer. Although I don't feel so bad, because the state employee couldn't help you either.

    Default Waiver of Overpayment

A waiver of Overpament is filed when the ESC rules that a claimant is not eligible to file for unemployment after money has been received and demands that it be repaid. In order to have the repayment waived, a form has to be filed requesting an exemption.
