I just read section 290.110 on the moga website and I'm a bit confused. Does it say that your employer must provide your final paycheck at the time you're fired or do they have up to a week to produce it? Also, I'm in a union so does that effect it in any way?

Wages must be paid on the final day of work. The 7 days comes into play when, if the employer does not pay on the final day of work, you have sent a letter requesting the pay and they haven't responded/paid you within 7 days from their receipt of your letter. At that point, your only recourse would be to file civilly, likely the amount would be within the threshold for small claims court.
