Default Medical release "just in case???" Nevada

Yesterday I was called at home and told that I had to pick up a medical release form for my doctor to fill out and that I could not return to work until this was done. I have missed one day of work because of the flu in almost 2 years. My boss is concerned that I might hurt my back because I went to the doctor for back aches last year and am on medication to strengthen my spine. I called my doctor and the soonest he can see me is July 24th and now my manager is mad because she will have a hardship trying to replace me till then I guess it doesn't matter that I loose 8 days of pay. Has anyone had this problem before and do I have any recourse to recoop my pay? Thanks.
