What is included in the calculation for overtime in Canada? Is just hours worked? Do they include commissions, bonuses, etc.? Thanks.

We are in multiple provinces. Does the calculation differ between them or is there a "generic" calculation that would cover them all? I have been doing research on the web, but I cannot find a definitive answer. Thanks.

The following is a link to a site that provide information on California overtime regulations: http://www.gov.on.ca/LAB/english/es/....html#overtime
That website says that overtime is one and a half times the employee's regular rate of pay. It does not mention bonuses, commissions, etc. However, since this is a US labor law website, you may wish to contact the Ministry of Labour for more information. Let me know what you learn. I'd love to be able to understand it. |
