This certainly sounds like discrimination on the basis of her pregnancy - a violation of both federal and California state law AND, even more terrible, it could be retaliation for raising a complaint.
You should talk with the state's Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and possibly file a complaint. You can learn more about pregnancy discrimination at: www.eeoc.gov. California's website also provides fantastic information, including how to file a charge with the state. It may be found at: http://www.dfeh.ca.gov/questionsEmp.asp Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions. |
