Unhappy Unpaid Suspension Wisconsin

I was put on unpaid suspension today. My employer told me they will let me know by Monday if I will continue with company or be fired. The reasons they gave me was that I hung up on 3 customers yesterday and they just happened to record those hang ups. I did accidentally hang up on those customers because I went to hit my mute button because I was sneezing or coughing and hit release by mistake. I was able to call one of them back because I got their information right away, the other two the call had just started. The buttons are right next to each other on the phone. I do not believe this is the real reason I was suspended. I asked to see my personnel file over 3 weeks ago and they have not yet given it to me to look over. I asked to see the file because I have been turned down for the same promotion several times with no reason given as to why. I think this is because I asked for my file. If I am indeed fired come Monday, do I have a case?

A case for what? If you are fired on Monday, you will not have a wrongful termination claim, if that is the question.

Did you ask to see your file in writing?

While under the terms indicated in the link above they are required to allow you to see certain items in your file, they are not obligated to promote you or to explain to you why you were turned down for a promotion.

Agree, if you are terminated, this would not be a wrongful/illegal termination. In at-will employment, you can be terminated at any time for any reason except a reason prohibited by law (ie age, religion, gender) or unless you have a binding employment contract or CBA to the contrary.
