    How about this one

I am a VERY slow typer due to having limited use of one hand. My problem is that after 10 or 15 minutes of trying to type a response with one hand to a posting, the cursor and what ever I've already typed starts to scroll uncontrollably upward on it's own and won't hold still which needless to say makes an already difficult task nearly imposable.
I'd try my other computer to see if the samething happens, but most times as not I can't even get the forum listings to load and I give up.
I've had no problems at all until y'all went to the new server,
since then it's been one thing after another.
Any ideas as why this is happening?

BTW, the other day I got an email from this outfit wanting to know if I'd care to fill out a survey on how LLT is doing. Is it legit?
So far, I don't think I'd have many good things to say....

    The wicked witch is dead!

To those who didn't think it important enough to look into the problem of the posting field jumping around that I and TSComplyance were having,
Use the Full editing mode, not short, not standard, but Full editing.
No more trying to hit a moving target with a cursor

Thanks, I'll give them a shot, but first I want to figure out how to add a screen shot to my posting.
When it comes to computers I'm self taught, so I don't know all those $100 dollar words to describe my problems and I don't want to look any more stupid than I already do.
so I thought a screen shot might help. Maybe I can practice at the lounge?
So far TSComplyance was to say he had the same problem on two different computers and his description of the problem was right on. I should drop him/her a line and see if he figured it out or just gave up. Been a while since we've heard from em anyway....
    c/ya

No, that ain't what I got Perhaps you're confusing Gateway and Dell. Gateway are the ones with the Holstein hides on the box,
    Dell, just can't spell.
Mine is generic IBM clone, vintage mid 2000 would be my guess.
    yard sale find.
Right now it's holding steady but as the word count go up she starts flipping out

The other 2%, I still wonder if it doesn't have something to with the changer over we went through a few months ago

There seems to be a direct correlation with the length of my response or the length of the OPs question when the reply with quote function is engaged
If either is relatively short no problems.
If either of the two are long winded it's only a short matter of time before things start jumping around so much that I am forced to log off.

Could anyone suggest a computer help site with members who possess the patience of saints and a since of humor?

You won't get a scroll bar on the right of the post you're typing unless your post gets long enough to require one. Then the scroll bar, and therefore the whole field you're typing in moves up & down, up & down.

When it comes to computers I'm pretty much self taught so I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
However, I would have thought that having THREE different computers displaying the same problem might warrant an investigation of some sort.
But then, for what computer geeks charge for a house call, I can completely understand why thats not happening..

As CATV technician when I would go out on a call and the customer could do little more than describe the problem, unless I saw it for myself there was little I could do other than to encourage them to call again and I'd try and get back there and hopefully I would see something going on.
The point being I had to tell the customers I can't fix it If I don't see it broke when I get there, which would go over really well especially if it was right after an increase in the cable rates!!
I'll try using my old computer and see what happens.

So far I've been banging on the ol keyboard for about thirty five or forty minuets now and wouldn't you know everything is holding steady!!
    Oh well......

I was having those problems until I did a defrag, cleanup and update on my computer.

I still have the problem of bumping keys on my fancy keyboard with all the unknown buttons on the side.
