Can you have your child support terminated if the child is 17 years of age and has joined the armed services? If so, do you have to be completely caught up on your payments or can you still have the child support terminated and just continue paying what is owed?

Is the child on active duty? It makes a huge difference to the answer.

If child support can be stopped, yes, the current order can be abated, and you still pay the arrearage.
