  • So underage marriages Oklahoma

So what about a 18yr old and a 16yr old in Missouri wanting to get married in Oklahoma. Can they do that? If not how old do they have to be? I have heard so many stories I don't know what is true and what isn't? And if they cross the state line won't the 18yr old get busted for kidnapping even if they do get married. If someone can actually shine some true lawful advice and not just an oppinion on this I would be very appreciated. I know what I think they both are nuts, but maybe if I bring in some actual laws into this they will stop and think about it. Or am I just barking up a tree with nothing to bark at?

In EVERY state, a child under the age of 18 has to have parental permission to marry. There is NO state that they can go to and legally marry without that consent.

Yes, the 18 year old can be in very serious trouble if he crosses state lines with a minor.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
