I was 16 when I got pregnant. I was the second oldest of 7 kids,so
there was no way my parents would let me keep my child. Education was
    most
important, and there are so many people that can't have children-how
happy I would make them, and I at least I knew I could have
    children-when
I was ready, they did not want to be grandparents yet, was what they
told me. They think you will forget all about it in time. Well 32
    years
later and I have NEVER forgotten- every birthday, every mothers day- I
    still cry like a baby.
9 years after he was born I had cancer and the dr. told me I had 2
months to get pregnant now or never.....I did and had one more son
    before
having to have a hysterecomy. He lived a good chrisian life, straight A

student- I was very proud of him. But 1 month before he was to start a

local college(-to major in and follow in my family's long history as
an artist) -4 years ago-He was killed by his friends drunk driving.
Now Mothers Day is even harder. I have only been able to have 2
children I have lost both of them.....1 to adoption and 1 to drunk
drivers.... All I do every day now is constantly search for my first
    born . I
feel such a need to at least find out what has become of him, what is
his name ,what does he look like, was he ever in the service, is he
    an
artist like most of my family , does he know he is adopted, what does
    he
do for a living, was his adopted parents good to him.And I want so
    much
to let him know about family medical history and even if he lived
    through his childhood??????
So many question and NO answers...
He was born Feb. 14 1971 Valentines Day, at Anchorage Community
    Hospital, Alaska, 11:12pm. He was 20 in.long and 6lbs 11.5oz. Delivery
    Dr.
was Dr. Curtis/Ivy. I signed relinquishment papers Feb. 19, 1971 with
Anchorage Dept. of Health & Welfare
    Greta at [email protected]

    Hi Greta,
I think you should gather other parents from the area, and place an
    ad.
Chip in, and place an ad, encourage other adoptees and birthparents to

    sign
up on the registry. There maybe adoptees that canít find in spite of
    getting
information. So they might want to join and help pay for part of the
    ad.
    Plus, put,
Iso m. 2/14/71 city, Alaska email: [email protected]
    <mailto:[email protected]>
Ad. F. 9/5/49 city, Alaska email: [email protected]

This is just examples of what could be put in the newspaper, and set
    up
    a
free excite.com addr. For the ad.

    Sincerely,
    Joan

Hi - I need help looking up records concerning my adoption. I was
born in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas on 6-8-68. I was placed with
    my
adoptive parents at 5 days old. My birth mother was a resident of the
Methodist Mission Home in San Antonio. I'm trying to locate a copy of
    the
relinquishment signed by my birth mother or a copy of the newspaper
that advertised the adoption annoubcement. In the San Antonio area,
adoptions notices are publised in The Daily Commercial Recorder which
    is on
film at the Institute of Texan Cultures in downtown San Antonio. I
    have
been told that a notice would have been posted at the time the infant
was relinquished, which beats the daylights out of looking thru the
    next
    year for adoption only.
I was told it had to be signed by the time I left the Mission Home
with my adoptive parents. My adoption was finalized in Maryland and I
have the case number for the final decree. I was hoping it is the same

case number that started in Texas. My adoptive name is Jessica Lynn
Atwood. The case number I have is 4716. My adoptive parents are Joel
    Terry
Atwood & Gwendolyn Dale (Skillin) Atwood. Any records in the Bexar
County courts will be filed under my adoptive father's name. If
    there's any
way you can check this out for me I would be totally greatful!! Thanks

in advance for any help you can offer.......Jessica

Education was most important, and there are so many people that can't have children-how happy I would make them, and I at least I knew I could have children-when I was ready, they did not want to be grandparents yet, was what they told me. They think you will forget all about it in time. Well 32 years later and I have NEVER forgotten- every birthday, every mothers day- I still cry like a baby. 9 years after he was born I had cancer and the dr. told me I had 2 months to get pregnant now or never.....I did and had one more son before having to have a hysterecomy. He lived a good chrisian life, straight A student- I was very proud of him. I was born in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas on 6-8-68. I was placed with my adoptive parents at 5 days old. My birth mother was a resident of the Methodist Mission Home in San Antonio. I'm trying to locate a copy of the relinquishment signed by my birth mother or a copy of the newspaper that advertised the adoption annoubcement. In the San Antonio area, adoptions notices are publised in The Daily Commercial Recorder which is on film at the Institute of Texan Cultures in downtown San Antonio. I have been told that a notice would have been posted at the time the infant was relinquished, which beats the daylights out of looking thru the next year for adoption only. I was told it had to be signed by the time I left the Mission Home with my adoptive parents. My adoption was finalized in Maryland and I have the case number for the final decree. I was hoping it is the same case number that started in Texas. My adoptive name is Jessica Lynn Atwood. The case number I have is 4716. My adoptive parents are Joel Terry Atwood & Gwendolyn Dale (Skillin) Atwood. Any records in the Bexar County courts will be filed under my adoptive father's name. If there's any way you can check this out for me I would be totally greatful!! Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.......Jessica Yahoo!
