  • California Fired Due to Assocation ?

    Hi,

I worked at a small mom n pop restaurant where I was management.

My girlfriend started working for the same owners at their second restaurant.

The owners and I started to disagree on certain things and that led to me being fired.

The next day they fired my girlfriend, stating, they did not want her there.

    Is this just?

    Thanks

Just, probably not. Legal, probably yes.

Based just on what you posted, seems legal.

It is legal and not terribly uncommon when terminating one spouse who works for the company. It is less common based on friends or unmarried SOs but is still legal.
