  • Whistle-Blower Termination Arizona

I worked for a Phoenix AZ based property management firm for 9 years until earlier this year.

I noticed some payroll invoices for three client companys we provide maintenance employees to that had highly inflated employer taxes. I emailed the head of accounting telling him I confirmed we are overcharging the client on and was I terminated the next day. Reason given was I am not a team player.

I feel like it was a wrongful firing but, AZ is so pro-employer I don't know what to do.

Notifying your employer of errors in billings (or worse) does not trigger any legal protections. All you can do is apply for unemployment benefits and start looking for a new job. Good luck.
