  • fired while on wc Indiana

After being injured on the job over two years ago. I have been put on light duty, due to the pain and meds.(I was allowed to work up until this time, nothing had changed for me, except I filed a lawsuit against WC just one month earlier,as they have not paid for any med treatment, close to 100,00 w/ surgeries) I am no longer qualified for FMLA,(low hours.) and was given letter to provide DR. slips for day or two here and there, I can't, as I didn't know I had to, and the DR. won't as I didn't see him, no point, just gives drugs. I am now being put thru termination process next week. Is this legal to be fired while on WC?

Contrary to popular belief, yes, it is possible to be fired while on wc.

You cannot be fired BECAUSE you filed a wc claim, but that is not the same as saying that an employer has to hold your job open or leave you on light duty indefinitely.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
