  • Travelign Employee and WC Coverage California

I have an employee who will be traveling to various locations in different states. I am curious to know when we will be responsible for the employee (i.e. WC potential)? Will it be if he is hurt at any time while traveling (i.e. wlaking thru airport, driving rental car, taking a shower at hotel, etc.)? Or only while traveling to/from hotel and while at job site. Or, will it cover only while ee is at job site? etc. Thanks in advance.

I would check with your carrier, but, off hand, if he is being paid, he is covered by comp.

If he is exempt, then things could get interesting, but, call your carrier.

It would be covered by WC. Business travel is covered whether running an errand down the street or attending a meeting cross country.
