  • Texas Fast Food Breaks And/or lunch

I recently started working at a fast food restaurant in Texas, and when I was hired I was told I would get at least one break on the clock every day, but after 3 days of work, I am forced to work the drive through on an 8 hour shift with no break at all. I dont get an un-paid lunch or any type of break at all. I havnt been able to locate any laws or regulations about this and was wondering if anyone could help me. I understand things are hectic at these jobs, but Im on my feet for 8 hours every day and I do work 40 hours a week. Its very tiring and hard to not get any time to eat or even go to the bathroom. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Breaks in Texas

Texas does not require breaks and meal periods for employees. You can read about Texas regs at: http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/statutes/la.toc.htm
