    My wife is a salaried manager at a telecom outsourcer. As it is getting close to the end of the year they are trying to maximize billable hours. Recently they were informed that there may be occasions where they are sent home early, while leaving her agents at work, and this time will be removed from their earned paid time off. Their salary is not billed to the client but is paid by her employer. Is it legal to send home a salaried employee and also remove the corresponding time from earned vacation time?

    Yes, it is, as long as the compensation is not reduced. If the person does not have any time off available, the employer cannot reduce the pay.
