  • working file vs. personnel file Oregon

Are there any laws in reference to maintaing a "working file" for only one year and then having to discard those items in the working file for Law Enforcement Officers?

Would this be a violation of the Peace Officer Bill of Rights?

After your employment can the HR manager place items from your working file over one year old into your personnel file?

A file is a file. I would imagine the "working file" is something your direct supervisor keeps and, at some point, certain or all of the documents in it get transferred to your "permanent" employment file. Generally speaking, that's perfectly legal.

I don't know anything about a Peace Officer's Bill of Rights. Did you try googling it?
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.
