  • Purging of Personnel File Oregon

When a non union, non government organization keeps a personnel file on each employee, is there an Oregon Law stating when a file should be purged and what is kept in a current employees file? In the Federal Government all files are purged after 12 months of any warnings, discipline, etc.

I am not aware of any state that requires an employer to purge employee files at any time.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
