    First off I have a union that isnt worth anything to say the least. My question is that if I take vacation time and my employer forces us to make up that time is that legal. They just started some new rule where if you miss work by either call off or vaction then your forced to make up that time you missed. For example they have say 8 hours of overtime and I missed a day of work that week, they can just make me work it because I have under 40 hours. What I can not understand though is how if you take vacation time how an employer can force you to make that time up.

    They can do it because no law says they can't.

    What you have described does not violate the law. We would have no way of knowing if it violates your CBA - you will have to ask your steward about that.
    The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
