  • Does New York Have

Hi, does New York State have labor laws to the effects of letting a mother have a break to express breast milk? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If cbg doesn't have this in her handy-dandy resource when she arrives, try the LaLeche League. http://www.lalecheleague.org

All I could find in a quick search of NY law was a Civil Rights law regarding breastfeeding, not pumping.

There isn't in NY. However, that doesn't mean you can't voluntarily allow it as the employer or request it as the employee.
I post with the full knowledge and support of my employer, though the opinions rendered are my own and not necessarily representative of their position. In other words, I'm a free agent.

What Patty posted IS my handy-dandy resource thing for this particular question.

This will take you a little deeper into the site:

The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
