    Can you be fired for filing a non-discrimination related complaint against your supervisor?

    Unless it relates to a right protected under the law, yes, that is correct.

    The sole exception would be if a legally binding contract or CBA expressly and in so many words says otherwise.

    OK. So I'm clear...filing a complaint using company approved grievance procedures can be used to fire you. Correct?

    Yes.

    Retaliation is only illegal when it is related to a right protected under the law. Complaining about your supervisor, when it does not relate to illegal discrimination/harassment or another legal violation, is NOT protected under the law.
