  • Four 10 Hour Shifts? Nevada

I have a small group of employees that have approached me about voluntarily working four 10 hour shifts per week. The info I found online says that:

"According to the Nevada overtime law found in NRS 608.018, overtime hours begin when a worker who receives less than 11/2 times the state minimum wage exceeds more than 40 hours of work in a single week and/or the worker is on the clock for more than 8 hours in any single day. The single day limitation is voided if, by contract or other agreement, the worker has agreed to work four 10 hour shifts, which results in a 40 hour work week. For employees who receive normal compensation at a rate equal to or greater than 1 1/2 times the state minimum wage, employers are required to pay overtime compensation for each hour over the maximum 40 hours allowed by law."

These employees are not under contract so what form of "other agreement" would protect our company against OT claims for the 2 hours in excess of 8 per day?
