  • Sleep inbetween shifts Maryland

I was recently fired after working what essentiately was 3 shifts in a row. Is there any law that requires you to get sleep/rest in between shifts? The employer fired me after I left a job at 1 am in the morning in hopes of getting atleast a couple of hours of sleep before my next shift in the morning.

With very few, industry specific exceptions, no law dictates any particular number of hours rest or sleep between shifts. Sorry.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.

From the DLLR website http://www.dllr.state.md.us/labor/wa...wptermsset.htm http://www.dllr.state.md.us/labor/wagepay/wpbreaks.htm
I post with the full knowledge and support of my employer, though the opinions rendered are my own and not necessarily representative of their position. In other words, I'm a free agent.
