  • Not able to claim child on income tax.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of not be able to claim your child on your income tax because you are not paying at least 50% of the childs living expenses.

My attorney told me that, now she is able to claim him until he is 18.

We have been switching for the past 4 years.

Please let me know what you think or have heard.

    Thanks!!!!

Justin, this is a forum for employment and labor law, not tax law. There is a tax law forum elsewhere on this site.

And, btw, every one of the posts you responded to already had the legal answers given and the options for the posters. Getting an attorney is not the answer for everything, especially when no law has been broken. You must be an attorney, or work for one. And why should posters "trust you" any more than they trust the HR professionals and attorneys who already respond here?
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.
