  • Maximum Hours Standards

I work for a company in Illinois who sometimes requires employees to pull double-shifts / 16 hour days for 2 weeks straight. These employees are not public service or farm employees and are over 19 years old and we do pay overtime at time and half.

My question: Are there laws regarding
    1. maximum number of hours you can work an employee in a day
    2. requirements of an 8-hour rest period between workdays?
    3. 14 consecutive days worked?

Illinois does have "one day's rest in seven" law. Other than that, no, there are no general prohibitions.
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.

Sounds like a typical Silicon Valley job.
