  • Does anyone know if this is legal?

My company also has a lot of restrictions on their employee handbook.

The new change that has deflated everyone around here is this.

Now our employer is requiring us to work all holidays if they fall on a week day. We are not a traditional retailer nor do we serve food to the public nor are we a traditional manufacturer. As a matter of fact, almost every business in this area is closed and so are many of our suppliers. I don't understand how this type of company can require us to work ALL Holidays. (No July 4th, No Memorial Day, No Thanksgiving etc.) It's just wrong.

They can do this because no law says they can't.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
