  • Cost of Living - Illinois

My company last did a cost of living adjustment in either '99 or '00. We recieve yearly raises of 3%, for our salaries, around $0.30 a year. With the price of gas and other good sky rocketing, they are doing nothing.

Is there any kind of time period that companies have to re-adjust for the rising cost of living?

No, there is not and they aren't required by any law to do so at all. Unless you have a bona fide contract specifying such increases or are working under a union contract that requires them, they have no legal obligation to do so.
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.

I am certainly no math wiz, but how does a 3% raise result in an increase of only 30 cents/year?
