  • Another Break Question - Illinois

I work overnights (non profit) 10p-8a and we are offered 2-15 min breaks, however, this is were they just changed it on us. We can no longer leave our place of work to obtain food, and none is provided. Is there anything illegal here?

Can't you bring a lunch? And although Illinois law does not require rest breaks, it does, generally speaking, require a meal period of at least 20 minutes if the employee works at least 7.5 hours; such meal period must begin no later than 5 hours into the shift.
