    Employee Discussions Idaho

As an employer, if I have an employee that brings her husband with her and wants to talk about her workers comp claim and other employment issues, am I obligated to talk to both her and her husband? Can I ask him to leave? If so would this be a state statute or comply with HIPAA regulations?

No, you are not required by law to allow the husband in on the discussions. There's no law either way, so the decision is left to the employer. Generally speaking, unless another person is needed to translate or otherwise assist the employee in understanding the discussion (for example, a mental incapacity of some kind), I would require the husband leave. Again, you have no legal obligation to let him sit in just because she wants him to.
