  • California Salaried NonExempt Employee California

I work for a privately owned company and have some concerns about my hours/payrate. Recently I have been working 45-50 hours a week, and I was advised by my supervisor that one night I had to work until 9pm and I was not going to receive overtime since I am a salaried employee. I would like to know what the max hours my employer can work me in the work week without them getting into trouble, or having to pay overtime, given i am a salary non exempt employee

"Salaried" is just a payment method. "Non-Exempt" employees normally get paid overtime.

There are some possible industry specific exceptions. You might want to post the nature of your employer's business and your specific job duties to verify the Non-Exempt status and the absence of any exceptions.
