  • Argricultural Farm workers Employee laws in Arizona Arizona Arizona Arizona

Is there a place I can go to check the laws for farming? I need to learn the laws of the State I am in such as, lunch breaks, overtime, bathrooms (port a potty) and if office workers have to follow the same laws? Also if there is anything different between hourly and salary under farming, and where can I get a hand book template? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

There isn't one stop shopping as all of these things fall under different agencies and in some cases, more than one. http://www.azfb.org/public/512/opinions/labor might be a good resource for you.

For federal regulations try here http://www.usda.gov/oce/labor/laws.htm
I post with the full knowledge and support of my employer, though the opinions rendered are my own and not necessarily representative of their position. In other words, I'm a free agent.

I can say that most agriculture workers are Exempt from overtime under FLSA (federal law) but most be paid at least minimum wage for hours worked.
